Struggle. Balance. Dreams.
It’s about balance We ended “Up through the dirt” -which you can read here– talking about how our struggles in life aren’t wasted. As I’ve said before, I think life is always going to be a struggle to some extend. Whether it’s from choices of our own, the horrific things going on in this world- like this story about a young man who lost his rights to his child because of his ex-girlfriend hiding the pregnancy from him- read about it here, or social media/news/etc that weighs us down. There’s always going to be something we’re struggling with. Mentally. Emotionally. Spiritually. Financially. Yes, there are solutions for all of those…
What Real Love Is (At Least To Me)
Just like that quote says, our challenges are exactly why we succeed in life. I believe that. I believe that they are what teaches us about real love. They help show us who has our back and who in actuality, loves us unconditionally. We might not see it at first because just like the wind, it can seem so cruel at times.
Lost? Truth About Being Lost
When you feel that pull when you think there's got to be more than this, and you feel so incredibly distorted; remember you are not lost. You are trying to remember who you are in your truest sense. There isn't anything wrong with you for feeling misplaced. Everyone does sometimes.
One Tune, You Pick the Lyrics
Everyone has the same tune in the background of their lives. How could we not? We're all humans. We all have the same needs. The same basic desires to be wanted, loved, comfortable. So why do some people go through life with the volume turned all the way up enjoying every little sensation and others can't hear a single pen drop? I think it has something to do with the lyrics.
Running from ourselves
Running is easier than facing. Walls are easier than being vulnerable. Why share how I'm feeling when bottling up inside means no one gets hurt and I won't be ridiculed? These bad habits aren't solutions. Obviously. They leave me feeling alienated. Like a counterfeit. A hollow cut out of who I really am.
Up Through The Dirt
Think of a flower. The seed is planted, literally covered in soil. I highly doubt that the seed knows where it is. Or the potential it holds. Everywhere it looks is dark and cold and unforgiving. The progress this seed makes day to day is minuscule. Unmeasurable. But eventually the stem this seed has been growing pops up through the dirt, darkness, and cold. Then come the leaves and bloom. And finally the awkward little thing blossoms into something magnificent. Its struggle was not wasted. There was a great purpose for it.
The List
I came across a list I had written. Don't ask when or how long ago I wrote it. No date was included. The title was scribbled out in curly Q circles. I don't remember writing it.
Why Do We Limit Ourselves?
Why do we do that to ourselves? It's like we've decided we're too incompetent to ever expand the horizons of our thinking. Or that because we don't work in a certain field we're automatically unable to form a hypothesis.
Come Back Be Here
What just happened? Have you ever wondered what happened to you? Everything thing was going great. You'd just established your footing and were moving quickly in the direction you wanted to go. But then... an obstacle leaves you screeching to a halt in your tracks. All the ground you gained suddenly is gone in an instant. Leaving you wishing the footing you used to have would come back.
